My name’s Labiba, and I am glad you’re here.
Starting therapy and finding the right therapist can be an intimidating and exhausting process (I know from personal experience), so I decided to create a space that is welcoming and comforting.
If you’ve made it this far in life, chances are you’ve faced your share of pain, sadness, trauma, worry and heartbreak. While some of these are expected as responses to life events, you shouldn’t have to suffer through more bad days than good. Therapy has the ability to empower us, educate us and help us rise after adversity, all while honouring our unique personalities.
As a certified and registered Calgary psychologist, my goal is to give you the skills you need so you can make the changes you want in your life and improve your mood, relationships, career and personal goals.
Let me help you get there.
Let’s Talk.
I get it; you might feel a little overwhelmed, nervous and lost about what to expect from your first Calgary psychology session. That’s absolutely okay; I’m here to make it easy and, most importantly, comfortable.
The first session is a simple “get to know you.” I’ll review the consent and intake forms while we discuss your concerns and goals for therapy. At the end of the first or second session, I’ll form a brief treatment plan consisting of a combination of interventions.
The sessions are warm, down-to-earth and professional. I like to keep things light and simple, creating a space where you can be yourself and work towards becoming the best version of you
I understand that preparing for your first session can be difficult, so I’m here to make it easy for you. I’ll provide you with some online consent and intake forms while suggesting that you write down the reasons you’re coming to therapy and your goals or concerns.
I require an Emergency Contact for any situations that may arise during or after a session that constitutes an emergency, such as a medical emergency, a missing person, or risk of imminent danger to the client or from the client. As a certified psychologist, therapeutic details are never disclosed to any third party unless the client specifically signs a request to do so.
Nope! It all depends on what makes you comfortable. Some people prefer discussing their concerns face-to-face while others enjoy the comfort of their own homes. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions, so everyone can get the counselling they need.
